A reminder to all residents and members Main Street
will be closed from  5th Avenue to 9th Avenue on
Saturday May 17, 2008 for Ursinus College Commencement. 
Main Street will close at 10:00 am and reopen at 12:00 Noon.

Oaks, Upper Providence Twp Vehicle Rescue

At 06:44 Hours Units were dispatched to a reported vehicle rescue at Longford and Egypt Roads in the Oaks section ofUpper Providence Township.  Assistant 63-3 on scene reported entrappment in 2 vehicles and placed a helo on stand by.  First vehicle Silver Hyundai had one female entrapped and the second vehicle a BMW had one Male entrapped.  Upon arrival of EMS, crews worked on patient  asssement and stabilization and rescue crews went to work stabilizing the vehicles.  The door on the Hyundai was opened and the female victim was removed and transported to an LZ at Oaks Fire Station on Green Tree Road.  Crews then worked on the BMW and removed the roof and drivers side door, the male victim was the removed from the vehicle and transported the LZ at Oaks Fire Staiton.  All units cleared at 08:00 Hours

 Units on scene:  EMS 322, Chester 367, Squad 63, Tac 63, Rescue 34, UPT Police, Fire Police from 34, 63, 55, 53

Dwelling Fire Perkiomen Township

 

At 21:59 hours Station 66, Ladder 77, Squad 34, Engine 34, EMS 324 were dispatched to a reported dwelling fire at 44 Liberty Alley in Perkiomen Township.  72-11 (Collegeville Police) went on scene at 22:04 hours and reported a working fire second floor with all residence out of the dwelling.  At 22:07 Chief 66 established command and at 22:10 hours requested a 2nd alarm which brought in Ladder 54, Engine 86 and Rescue 53. 22:17 hours a Fire Fighter was reported down and EMS requested a 3rd unit dispatched to the scene.  EMS also requested a direct fly of a helo for the injured fire fighter.  EMS was advised flight service down due to weather.  Fire fighter was transported by ground to West Reading Hospital.  Fire was put under cotrol at 23:00 hours.  Pictures courtesy of Chief Wentworth.  More Photos on our gallery page

Collegeville Borough has enrolled in this program and is currently setting up its guidelines of what information will be passed along to residents of the Borough of Collegville.  Such informaton  that might be sent out would be flood warnings for the Perkiomen Creek, serious accidents with road closures, Tornado Warnings.

All residents are urged to participate in this important program.  Resolve to be ready, prepare for emgerncies before they happen.
